Davis Brin Earns Mention for Earl Campbell Weekly Award

TYLER, Texas –– The University of Tulsa junior quarterback Davis Brin was named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Weekly Honorable Mention accolades, it was announced today the SPORTyler.
 
The 6'2" Brin helped lead the Golden Hurricane to a 41-34 victory over the Arkansas State Red Wolves on Saturday with his second consecutive game passing for over 350 yards.
 
The Boerne, Texas native completed 17-of-25 passes for 355 yards and three touchdowns. Brin's TD passes covered 88, 34 and 17 yards.
 
With Tulsa trailing 14-7 and under five minutes to play in the first half, Brin led the Hurricane on three scoring drives in the final five minutes of the half. In that span, Tulsa scored 17 points in the final 3:23 to take a 24-14 lead into halftime. To start the third quarter, Brin led Tulsa on a second-half opening 75-yard, 6-play drive to take a 31-14 lead.
 
After four games, Brin is the league's second-ranked passer with a 302-yard average per game, while ranking third in total offense at 304.7 yards per game.
