Tulsa Men Advance To Doubles Quarterfinals, Singles Round Of 16 At ITA Regionals

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Two doubles teams and two solo athletes from The University of Tulsa men's tennis team advanced to the Main Draw Doubles Quarterfinals and Singles Round of 16 Friday during the ITA Men's Central Regional Championships in Fayetteville.

Doubles pair Adham Gaber and Ezequiel Santalla kicked it off for the Golden Hurricane by winning 8-6 over Davis Lawley and Hugo Piles of Nebraska-Omaha in the Round of 32.

Then, the duo battled their way to an 8-4 victory over Drake's Markus Bolin and Olle Sonesson Lidholt to advance to the Quarterfinals, where they will play Matija Matic and Oliver Johansson (Drake).

Joining them in the Doubles Quarterfinals are Connor Di Marco and Timothy Carlsson Seger, who took down Ignacio Vinas and Ezequiel Monferrer of Oral Roberts and Calvin Mueller and Will Gleason of Nebraska in the Rounds of 32 and 16. Di Marco and Seger will face Oklahoma's Jordan Hasson and Mark Mandlik next.

Doubles Quarterfinals matches will begin on the Arkansas campus at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.

In the Singles Round of 32, both Di Marco and Santalla only needed two sets to take down their opponents to advance to Saturday's Round of 16. Santalla will compete against Baptiste Anselmo (Oklahoma) at 1 p.m., and Di Marco will play Nathan Han (Oklahoma) at 2:30 p.m.
