Tulsa's ninth-ranked men's soccer team captured a 3-2 win over Temple on Saturday night at the Temple Sports Complex in Philadelphia, Pa.  The Golden Hurricane moved to 8-2-2 on the season and 4-2-1 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Owls fell to 4-8-2 overall and 1-6 in the league.

"Getting a road win in the league as we've seen hasn't been easy," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said.  "We played a team tonight that is very hot.  They've played well in their last two games and we knew it was going to be a tough game coming here.  I thought we controlled the ball very well in the first half, we were in good control of the game and did an excellent job on the free kick.  The most disappointing part was giving away the first goal, but real credit to the guys and getting scored on, coming back, getting scored on and coming back.  They did a good job of refusing to lose so I'm proud of their mind set and effort, and the fact that we came here and got a win."

Tulsa will return to action on Friday, October 28 against SMU beginning at 6:00 pm at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.

How it Happened
Alex Meinhard crossed the ball into the box and Mariano Fazio headed in the goal from five yards out up the middle at the 38:35 mark for his second goal of the season, putting the Golden Hurricane up 1-0.

George Medill evened the score in the 44th minute as he headed in a goal from seven yards out and the two teams went into the locker room tied 1-1.

Sergio Baena put the Golden Hurricane ahead once again with just 1:31 ticked off the clock in the second frame.  Baena drilled in a shot from 12 yards out off a cross from Meinhard.

Yann Kouemi tied the game for the second time as he shot from six yards out into the lower left corner at the 75:52 mark.

Meinhard punched in a penalty kick at the 82:53 mark as he shot into the lower right corner to put Tulsa up 3-2 for the final score.
