Wes Bottenburg scored the lone goal to give Tulsa's seventh-ranked men's soccer team a 1-0 win over UCF on Friday night at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. The Golden Hurricane moved 9-2-2 on the season and 5-2-1 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Knights fell to 6-6 overall and 3-5 in the league.

"UCF set up very well to defend us, but we showed good patience in the first half and in the second half I thought we moved the ball well," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said. "We knew it wasn't going to be easy, but we didn't panic and we had good composure."

"I am happy for the seniors. They have a left an incredible mark on this program and I'm super proud of this group of seniors."

Tulsa will conclude the regular season on Wednesday, November 2 at SMU beginning at 7:00 pm in Dallas, Texas.

How it Happened
Wes Bottenburg headed in a corner kick taken by Sergio Baena at the 74:24 mark. It was Bottenburg's second goal on the season.

"We needed that set piece goal tonight," McIntosh said. "Wes had a tremendous header and it was a great ball played in so I'm super happy for the guys."
