TULSA, Okla. — The University of Tulsa Women's Volleyball will be under new leadership in 2023, as the school and head coach Ryan Wills have mutually agreed to part ways, the university announced Friday.

In nine seasons, Wills compiled an overall 137-126 record for a .521 winning percentage. Tulsa finished the 2022 campaign with an overall 13-18 mark and a 6-13 record in conference action. His best season came in his first as the Golden Hurricane posted a 22-9 record in 2014.

"We thank Ryan for his leadership and dedication to the program for the past nine seasons," said Rick Dickson, TU's vice president and director of athletics. "We appreciate Ryan's commitment to The University of Tulsa and our volleyball program. A TU graduate, Ryan will always remain a valued alumnus and member of the TU community."

Wills became the first Tulsa coach to lead his team to three postseason tournaments, all coming in the National Invitational Volleyball Championships (NIVC). His 2019 team reached the NIVC semifinals and finished with an 18-16 record. In his career at TU, Wills has coached 16 all-conference selections, including 11 first-team performers and also had two players earn Conference Libero of the Year and one Conference Freshman of the Year.

"Tulsa is home and will always have a special place in my family's heart. We are grateful for the opportunities, the victories and the relationships that were built along the way," said Wills.

A Tulsa native and 2008 TU graduate, Wills became the seventh head volleyball coach in Golden Hurricane history on Feb. 7, 2014.

The University of Tulsa will conduct a national search for its next head coach.
