
Tulsa to Host Arkansas Wednesday

TULSA, Okla. ― After a come from behind victory over Alabama on Sunday, the Tulsa men's tennis team will shift its focus to a different SEC opponent when they face the Arkansas Razorbacks tomorrow night at 6 p.m. in the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Tulsa mounted a comeback on Sunday to defeat Alabama, coming back to win 4-3 after facing a 3-1 deficit. Tulsa's Adham Gaber, Callum Gale, and Kody Pearson all posted singles victories in a row to give the Hurricane its fifth victory of the season and extend its home winning streak to four.
Earlier today, junior Connor Di Marco was named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week for his impressive performances against No. 3 Baylor and Alabama. Di Marco went 2-0 in singles play last week, beating previously undefeated Finn Bass of Baylor 7-5, 6-0 before getting Tulsa on the board against the Crimson Tide with a victory over Zach Foster 6-1, 6-4. It's the first career player of the week honors for the Melbourne, Australia product.
Arkansas is 7-2 on the season and has recorded wins over Oklahoma State and Alabama this spring. The Hurricane and Razorbacks have split the two previous matchups, Tulsa winning in 2020 and Arkansas winning last season. The Razorbacks are led by Aleksa Bucan, who is ranked No. 43 in the ITA singles rankings, and have two doubles teams in the top-50 of the ITA doubles rankings.
In last week's ITA Coaches Poll, both Tulsa and Arkansas were receiving votes. Doubles are slated for 6 p.m., and admission is free.
