Tulsa’s Home Winning Streak Snapped by Memphis

TULSA, Okla. ― Tulsa saw its five match home winning streak come to an end on Sunday, dropping to American Athletic Conference foe Memphis 4-2. The Hurricane drop to 7-3 on the season, 2-1 against AAC opponents, while Memphis improves to 8-4.
Tulsa started off with the advantage, securing the doubles point behind wins from Valeriya Rozenkova/Maria Berlanga at No. 1 and Laia Conde Monfort/Shura Poppe on No. 2. The Hurricane is now 21-6 this spring in doubles play.
Lian Benedejcic had the only singles win for Tulsa, improving to 4-0 in 2022 after a straight sets win at No. 5. Monfort, who is ranked No. 100 in the ITA Singles Rankings, was up one set when the Tigers clinched the match.
The Hurricane will look to bounce back next week, hosting North Dakota at 3 p.m. Thursday before hosting Purdue Saturday in a makeup match from February 5th.
