No. 40 Tulsa Falls to No. 51 South Florida

TULSA, Okla. ― The 40th ranked Tulsa men's tennis team fell 4-3 to No. 51 South Florida Sunday morning at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. The Hurricane drop to 11-9 on the season.
Tulsa started off the match winning the doubles point behind 6-4 wins from Connor Di Marco/Kody Pearson at No. 1 doubles, and Adham Gaber/Ezequiel Santalla at No. 3 doubles. Di Marco/Pearson collected their second consecutive ranked win, while Gaber/Santalla are 2-0 as a duo.
After South Florida won three-straight singles matches to take a 3-1 lead, Pearson and Gaber tied it up at three. Pearson bounced back from a second-set loss to win in three sets, posting his 11th victory of the dual season. Gaber, who held off Sergio Gomez Montesa 6-4, 7-6 (4), tallied his first win at No. 5 singles, and his ninth of the spring.
However, Antonio Muniz of South Florida was able to hold off Santalla at No. 3 singles in three sets, giving the Bulls their 12th win of the season.
Tulsa will look to bounce back this Thursday when TU heads to No. 75 Wichita State. Tulsa will play No. 18 Middle Tennessee on Friday in Kansas before returning to home to face Temple on Easter Sunday and No. 31 SMU on Monday, April 18th.
