TULSA, Okla. –– The University of Tulsa Head Basketball Coach Eric Konkol announced today the appointment of Jackson Patton as director of recruiting for the Golden Hurricane.

Patton comes to Tulsa following two seasons as a graduate assistant at the University of Alabama.

"We're really excited to have Jackson join our basketball program, said Konkol. "He came highly recommended by a number of people. He is coming to us after spending two years on the staff at Alabama under Head Coach Nate Oats."

At Bama, Patton assisted with player development and specifically skill development by conducting individual workouts and films sessions for Darius Miles, Jahvon Quinerly and JD Davison. He was also highly involved in recruiting from evaluation to organizing official and unofficial visits

"Jackson has a background as a player and gained a lot of experience in his time at Alabama in organizing their recruiting efforts including their database, official visits and a number of graphically creative materials," added Konkol. "We'll be leaning on Jackson in all those aspects and more in his role as director of recruiting.

"Were looking for him to not only organize the recruiting of our prospects but also fans, alumni and anyone associated with TU. He's a very talented person and has a really bright future."

A 2020 graduate of Olivet College, Patton earned his degree in journalism and mass communications while playing on the men's basketball team. He began his career at Adrian College and spent one season on the basketball squad.

In the summer of 2017, Patton was a basketball product intern at Under Armour.

Patton is a native of Cement City, Michigan.

One more assistant coaching position on the Hurricane staff remains to be filled.
