Tulsa Sets Reynolds Center Record with 117-Point Outburst Against UAPB

12/10/2025 10:39:00 PM | Men's Basketball

TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa men's basketball team continues to roll after a record-setting night in the Reynolds Center with a 117-84 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The Golden Hurricane set a facility record of 117 points, scored the ninth most points in a game in school history, and with 66 second half points, scored the most points in a half in the Reynolds Center.

The team is now 9-1 on the season and matches the program's best start since 2009-10. It was the sixth in a row for the Golden Hurricane, its longest streak since 2020-21. The 117 points is the most by a team in the American Conference this season on the fifth-best shooting night in the league, .571 (36-63). Tulsa's bench scored 61 points on the night, a season high.

Six players finished in double figures led by Jaylen Lawal's 20 points, all in the second half. He converted 7-of-11 field goals, including three from beyond the arc, and added five rebounds along with four assists. Miles Barnstable contributed 17 points, making 5-of-7 shots and sinking two 3-pointers. David Green added 11 points, sinking 6-of-7 free throws and recording two steals. Tyler Behrend collected nine rebounds while scoring six points. Tylen Riley and Romad Dean added 14 points while Myles Rigsby scored 11 off the bench.

Tulsa opened the first half with a quick jumper from Behrend, assisted by Green, to set the pace against the Golden Lions. Ade Popoola contributed significantly with two three-pointers, the second at the 11:18 mark, extending the Hurricane's lead. Lawal and Tylen Riley were instrumental in maintaining the momentum, with Riley closing the half by hitting a three-pointer with 44 seconds left, pushing the score to 49-36. The half ended with Riley sinking two free throws, bringing the score to 51-36 in favor of Tulsa.

Tulsa took control of the second half, extending their lead over the Golden Lions with efficient scoring and strong defense. Early on, Green contributed with a steal at the 19:02 mark, leading to a Popoola layup. Lawal's shooting, including multiple three-pointers, helped Tulsa maintain their momentum. Despite efforts from Quion Williams and Jaquan Scott for Arkansas-Pine Bluff, the Hurricane's bench played a pivotal role, contributing 51 points leading to a 117-84 victory.

Tulsa is on the road for the next two games. This Saturday, they head to Frisco, Texas to take on New Mexico State for a 2 p.m. tip-off from the Comerica Center in a neutral site contest.
