
Tulsa Shuts Out Tulane to Advance to AAC Semifinals

TULSA, Okla. ― The third seeded Tulsa men's tennis team shutout Tulane 4-0 in Friday's American Athletic Conference Men's Championship quarterfinal match. The Hurricane, who improve to 15-10, advance to the AAC Semifinals and will face second seeded Memphis at noon. Due to potential high winds, TU's match is slated for indoor play with No. 1 seeded SMU and No. 4 South Florida squaring off before at 9 a.m.

Tulsa won the doubles point behind victories from Adham Gaber/Ezequiel Santalla at No. 2 doubles, 6-1, before Daniel Siddall/Tom Thelwall-Jones clinched the point with a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles. The newly paired duo of Gaber/Santalla is now 5-2 this season, while Siddall/Thelwall-Jones tallied their ninth win.

TU clinched the win behind three straight set wins from Connor Di Marco, Kody Pearson, and Gaber. At No. 5 singles, Di Marco tallied a 6-3, 6-1 win for his 14th win of the season. Pearson, the No. 49th ranked singles player in the country, followed his doubles partner with a 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles.

Gaber clinched the quarterfinal win for Tulsa, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 4 singles, to avenge TU's earlier loss at Tulane back on March 25th.
