Tulsa Spring Game set for Saturday

TULSA, Okla. ––
The Tulsa Golden Hurricane football team finished the weekend with practices on Saturday and Sunday and enters the week with two more practices before Saturday's Spring game.

The Annual Spring Game is set for Saturday, April 9 as a part of Hall of Fame Weekend. The game at H.A. Chapman Stadium will get underway at 11: 00 a.m. Bounce Houses for kids and sno-cones will be a part of the Spring Game festivities.

Saturday's 76-play scrimmage saw both sides of the ball controlling momentum at times. The defense with 3-and-outs and the offense with some nice scoring possessions and explosive places.

"We had good energy and good give-and-take on both sides. Momentum was a big part of the scrimmage," said Head Coach Philip Montgomery. "At times I thought our defense did a nice job with several 3-and-outs. Offensively, we put a couple of drives together and had some explosive plays. The good back-and-forth, give-and-take is what you're looking for at this time of year."

The big offensive play of the scrimmage was a 95-yard touchdown pass from Cardell Williams to Scottie Alexander.

Tulsa will practice Tuesday and Thursday of this week before the Spring Game.

"This week, we still have a lot of things to clean up, especially up front on both sides of the ball. We have a lot of guys getting reps that don't have a lot of experiences and we're trying to get them experience," added Montgomery.
