Tulsa Set to Compete at AAC Outdoor Championships

TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa track and field team heads north to Wichita, Kansas, to compete in the 2022 American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships. The meet will run from Friday to Sunday, streamed on ESPN+, and take place at Cessna Stadium on the Wichita State campus.
The Hurricane will send 18 male runners to compete in 11 events, including 12 in the 5,000-meter run. TU currently has the top-6 times in the conference this season and is ranked 3rd in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association 5,000-meter event squad rankings.
Tulsa will have 17 female athletes compete in 12 events. The Hurricane has eight runners in the women's 5,000-meter run, while Katharina Pesendorfer and Layla Roebke are slated for the 3,000-meter steeplechase, where the two have the first- and second-best times in the AAC, respectively.
