TULSA, Okla. — The University of Tulsa men's tennis team will host Bryant (0-4), Montana State (0-1) and No. 3 TCU (2-0) in the Michael D. Case Tennis Center this weekend to open the dual-match season. It is the men's first home action since the ITA All-American Championships held in early October.
Â
The Golden Hurricane will face Bryant first, starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, followed by a dual with Montana State later in the day at 6 p.m. On Sunday, Tulsa will face its first nationally-ranked opponent of the year in TCU.
Â
All matches will be streamed on Track.Tennis.
Â
Bryant is on a four-match losing skid to start the season, all coming on the road last weekend. Their losses came at the hands of Arizona State, Illinois, Wichita State and No. 15 Arizona.
Â
Montana State opened its season at home against North Dakota last week, falling short 5-2 against the Fighting Hawks. The Bobcats will face Oral Roberts on Thursday before playing TU on Friday.
Â
TCU comes to Tulsa ranked third in the country. Last week, the Horned Frogs took down SMU and Abilene Christian in their home opener. In the fall, No. 4-ranked doubles team Alexander Jong and Lui Maxted finished as runners-up in the doubles ITA National Fall Championship.
Â
The No. 53-ranked duo of Adham Gaber and Ezequiel Santalla enters the dual-match season 7-6 overall. Together, they went 3-1 last week during North Carolina's Allen Morris Invitational hidden duals.
Â
Senior Kody Pearson—the 2022 American Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Year—enters the 2023 dual-match season on a high note. The Sydney, Australia native won his first two singles matches of the year last week, including a three-set victory over No. 9 Ryan Seggerman (North Carolina).
