Tulsa Hosts Longtime Rival SMU on Saturday

, Okla. – The University of Tulsa and the No. 4 SMU men's soccer teams will meet for the 53rd time when the two schools take to the field on Saturday evening at the Hurricane Soccer Complex.
 
Saturday's game is Alumni Night and Champions Fund Night at the stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. and the game will air on ESPN+. Jeremie Poplin and former Tulsa standout Bradley Bourgeois will bring fans the action.  Tickets are $5 general admission and can be purchased at the north ticket gate, online at TulsaHurricane.com/tickets or by calling the TU Athletic Ticket Office at 918.631.4688. 

Fans unable to attend the match in person can watch it live on ESPN+.  TU fans can subscribe to ESPN+ to watch select Golden Hurricane basketball, soccer, softball and volleyball games.  ESPN+ is offered at $9.99/month or $99.99/year.  To subscribe, go to plus.espn.com.  Fans will be able to access ESPN+ content only after they have subscribed.
 
The Mustangs lead the all-time series 33-14-5 and were winners in the last meeting, a 3-2 game in Dallas, Texas. However, the Golden Hurricane has won the past three games at home.
 
The Hurricane is looking to get off a three-game slide after three consecutive 2-1 losses. Tulsa has posted a 4-6-2 record this season and 2-3-0 in The American Athletic Conference.
 
Sergio Baena notched his fourth goal of the season with a diving header off the assist from Mike Eijgendaal in the loss to Charlotte on Friday, Oct. 13. Baena is tied with Malik Henry-Scott for the team lead in goals. He has also recorded three assists and leads the team with 11 points.  Yuki Sekiguchi's four assists tops the charts for the Hurricane.
 
In goal, Alex Lopez has made 30 saves and has logged a pair of solo shutouts and a combined shutout in his 12 games this season.
 
The Mustangs enter as one of the top teams in the country, sitting in the top five in all the major polls. SMU has a 9-1-2 record this season, with its lone loss coming at Denver early in the season. In The American, the Mustangs are 4-0-1, which has them in second with 13 points, two behind Charlotte but with a game in hand.
 
SMU has scored 22 goals this season, with the majority coming from German forward Jelldrik Dallmann, who has put 10 in the net. Freshman Nik Berkovitz has scored four times and Baily Sparks has five assists to lead the team. 
 
In goal, Cole Johnson has made 12 starts and allowed just nine goals while making 28 saves. The goalkeeper has posted a 0.76 goals against average and has five shutouts plus a combined shutout.
