Tulsa’s Cassaday Earns Spot on AAC Weekly Honor Roll

IRVING, Texas — For the third time this season, graduate outside hitter Kayley Cassaday was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll, the league announced Monday. It is her fifth weekly conference award this season and 12th overall for the Overland Park, Kan., product.
 
Cassaday was a consistent performer in the Golden Hurricane's 1-1 showing at Florida Atlantic and UAB, putting away 35 kills and averaging five kills per set. With six block assists under her belt, she ended the weekend with an average points per set mark of 5.57. Cassaday's best performance came in the loss to FAU, where she recorded 19 kills to go with 13 digs for her eighth double-double of the season.
 
Through seven weeks of competition, Cassaday remains the nation's leader in kills (359), kills per set (5.36), points (384) and attacks (975), while also leading the league in points per set (5.73) and attacks per set (14.55).
 
Tulsa returns to the Donald W. Reynolds Center for a two-match homestead against SMU (12-6, 6-1 AAC), slated for Friday, Oct. 13, at 6:30 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 14, at 3 p.m.
