Tempe, Ariz. — The University of Tulsa women's tennis veteran Oleksandra Nahurska cracked the nation's top-125 singles list, coming in at No. 125 in the final fall ITA Division I Women's Tennis Rankings, announced today. It's the first career singles ranking for the fifth-year senior from Lugansk, Ukraine.
Nahurska finished the fall season with a team-leading 9-2 record. She opened the year with four consecutive victories, the first three of which came against opponents from Northern Arizona, Grand Canyon and New Mexico at the NAU Lumberjack Classic. She then followed up with her first ranked win over Vanderbilt's Anessa Lee—formerly ranked No. 103—in the first round of Main Draw action at the ITA Women's All-American Championships. It was a test of endurance as Nahurska came out on top 7-5, 5-7, 7-6(5).
In the ITA Central Regional Championships, Nahurska received a first-round bye and picked up a pair of wins over Grace Chadick (South Dakota) and Morgan Cross (Arkansas) to reach the singles round of 16. Nahurska wrapped up her strong fall season at home with three consecutive straight-set victories at the Tulsa Invite.
