Tulsa’s Kayley Cassaday Named to The American First Team All-Conference

IRVING, Texas — For the third consecutive year, The University of Tulsa's Kayley Cassaday was named First Team All-Conference by the American Athletic Conference, announced by the league Tuesday.

"Kayley is an elite outside hitter and has proven herself to be one of the best in the country," said Head Coach Lauren Ramatowski. "She has continued to hold her spot at the top in multiple categories including kills per set, points per set and attacks per set. What is even more impressive is that she is a six-rotation outside hitter who is a primary passer and defender for us. Her discipline and her desire to improve every day is what allows her to be one of the top outsides in the country."

A fifth-year graduate student from Overland Park, Kan., Cassaday was a four-time conference Offensive Player of the Week and a three-time selection to The American's Weekly Honor Roll in 2023. She had a career year for the Golden Hurricane, finishing the regular season ranked second in the nation in points (636), kills (592), attacks (1,656) and attacks per set (14.40), third in kills per set (5.15) and fourth in points per set (5.53). She's led the conference in all six benchmarks since the third week of the season, when TU went 3-0 at the Tulsa Invite.

Cassaday also had a big presence on defense with 327 digs and 48 blocks, both marks ranking top-five on the team. She reached double-figures in digs 15 times this year, as well as double-digit kills in all but one match, resulting in 14 double-doubles.

Cassaday helped Tulsa earn its first NIVC bid since 2021, best overall record (17-14) and home record (8-4) since 2019 and best conference finish (10-9) since 2018.

Tulsa opens the NIVC on Thursday, Nov. 30, against Kansas City (22-8) at 3:30 p.m. on the Wichita State campus.
