FORT WORTH, Texas —Temira Poindexter recorded a team-high 15 points in Tulsa's 82-50 loss to TCU Friday night in Fort Worth to eclipse 1,000 career points. She's the 12th Golden Hurricane in program history to accomplish the feat. Tulsa falls to 5-3 on the year while the Horned Frogs improve to 8-0.

Poindexter started the day needing 11 points to reach the mark, and she did so by scoring Tulsa's first 11 points in the opening quarter.

"It's a well-deserved honor," said Head Coach Angie Nelp. "Scoring 1,000 points is not easy for anyone to reach in their career, and for her to accomplish that so early in hers speaks a lot about her, especially being that she's just starting her junior year. I know there's a lot that goes into it, but that's definitely a highlight tonight for one of our girls to earn that reward."

Another double-digit scorer was Delanie Crawford, who finished with 11. She also led the Hurricane with six rebounds, all on defense. She and Katia Gallegos each had four assists to close out the night.

Overall, Tulsa went 21-of-61 (34.4%) in field goals, 5-of-32 in three-pointers and 3-of-6 in free throws, while TCU shot 28-for-61 from the field, 14-for-30 in threes and 12-for-13 at the charity line.

HOW IT HAPPENED

IN THE FIRST QUARTER…
TCU scored the first points of the game with a pair of layups. Tulsa got on the board with a three-pointer from Temira Poindexter. She went on to score the next eight points for the Hurricane, pushing her over the 1,000 career-point mark. In all, she shot 5-for-9 with a free throw to score 13 of Tulsa's 15 first-quarter points.

The Horned Frogs never trailed on the way to closing out the first quarter on top 23-15.

IN THE SECOND QUARTER…
It was a low-scoring affair in the second quarter as TCU scored 14 points to Tulsa's eight. TU shot just 25 percent (3-12) from the field with Ahrray Young and Delanie Crawford each leading Tulsa with three points. The Horned Frogs led 37-23 at the half.

IN THE THIRD QUARTER…
Delanie Crawford and Ahrray Young each had a trio of baskets, with Young shooting perfectly from the field. Despite Tulsa landing a game-high 16 points, the Horned Frogs pressed on with 22 points shooting 6-of-11 from the field and 3-of-6 from three-point land.

IN THE FOURTH QUARTER…
TCU's offense never let up, shooting 47.1 percent (8-17) from the field and 45.5 percent (5-11) in three-pointers while holding Tulsa to 5-for-17 and no treys.

Ahrray Young was the second-half leader in points (9), rebounds (3) and blocks (1).
