Teddy Bear Toss
•      Fans are asked to bring a new or gently used stuffed animal to toss onto the court at halftime for the Texas Southern game.
•      The stuffed animals will be donated to children in need this holiday season.
 
Facing Texas Southern
•      This is the fifth meeting between Tulsa and Texas Southern.
•      Tulsa holds the series lead 3-1.
•      The two teams faced off last year in Houston, where the Hurricane won 83-80.
 
Two Going for 20 Points
•      Delanie Crawford and Temira Poindexter have combined for 12 20+ scoring performances this season.
•      Poindexter has score 20+ points in seven games and Crawford five times … among those games, they each have one 30+ scoring games.
•      Tulsa is 4-0 when the two of them each score 20+ points in the same game, including against Lindenwood, New Orleans, Clemson and Florida.

Tulsa Gets ACC, SEC Wins
•      This season Tulsa has garnered wins over teams from the ACC (Clemson) and SEC (Florida).
•      The Hurricane claimed a 74-64 win over Clemson at the Van Chancellor Classic in Katy Texas, and in a home game took down Florida 72-64.
•      It marks the first time since the 2005-06 season that Tulsa had at least two wins over 'power 5' schools when Tulsa defeated Arkansas (66-64), Oklahoma State (75-8) and Florida State (80-71) in three consecutive games.
•      The win over Florida was the first against an SEC team since an 80-73 win over Alabama on Dec. 1, 2018.
•      The last ACC win for Tulsa came against NC State 71-61 in the first round of the 2006 NCAA Tournament.

The Only One
•      As of Dec. 10, American Athletic Conference teams has faced SEC teams seven times this season.
•      Tulsa's 72-64 win over Florida is the only win against an SEC team by an AAC team this year.
 
Poindexter Adding to Career Point Total
•       Temira Poindexter became just the 12th player in school history to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
•       She reached the 1,000-point mark by scoring 15 points at TCU, which was her 66th career game played.
•       Poindexter now has 1,047 points for a 15.4 average in 68 career games.
•       She ranks 12th on the all-time scoring list, needing 25 more points to tie Erika Wakefield (1,072 pts, 2014-18) for 11th place.
•       Another Hurricane player, Katia Gallegos has already reached the 1,000-point mark in her career with 1,089 points, including 967 in three seasons at UTEP and 122 points at Tulsa.
 
Mady Knocks Down the Treys
•       Trailing 56-54 against UCA, freshman Mady Cartwright scored her first points of the second half when her three-pointer at the 4:05 mark put Tulsa ahead 57-54.
•       It was her next 3-point attempt at the 2:59 mark that put Tulsa ahead 60-56 as the Hurricane held on for a two-point 60-58 win.
•       Cartwright finished the game with 12 points on 4-of-6 from the field, including 4-of-6 from three-point range.
•       She leads Tulsa with a .447 three-point percentage, while making 17-of-38 … she has had four multiple three-point made games.
•       Cartwright made a season-high 5-of-8 treys vs. Northwestern State, then her second-highest was 4-of-6 vs. UCA.
 
Crawford & Poindexter AAC Earn Player of the Week Honors
•    In the first three weeks of the season, Tulsa juniors Delanie Crawford and Temira Poindexter were named two of the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week selections.
•       Delanie Crawford earned all-conference accolades in the first week after averaging 21.7 points while shooting 57% from the field, 54%from 3-point range and 90% from the free throw line. She added 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists.
•       In an 89-80 opening road win at Lindenwood, Crawford scored 35 points for the second highest single-game point total in school history.
•       On Nov. 27, Poindexter earned the AAC Player of the Week award after totaling 26.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists while leading Tulsa to a 2-1 record at the Van Chancellor Classic.
•       Poindexter totaled 29 points against UAPB, 26 in a win over Clemson and 23 against 25th-ranked Mississippi State.
•       It's the first weekly honor for both Crawford and Poindexter in their careers … Poindexter was named the Freshman of the Week eight times in 2021-22 and made the weekly honor roll six times last year.
•       In addition to their player of the week honors, Crawford (Nov. 20) and Poindexter (Dec. 11)   each have been named to the AAC weekly honor roll once this year.

•     Temira Poindexter has now scored in double-digits in all 10 games this year and for the 55h time in 68 career games.
•    Poindexter scored 12 first-half points against UCA, giving her double digits in the first half of a game six times this season.
•    She scored –– 15 at Lindenwood, 16 vs. New Orleans, 18 vs. UAPB, 16 vs. #25 Mississippi State, 13 at TCU and 12 vs. UCA –– in the first half of those games this year.
•    Poindexter had her seventh game of 20+ points this season and 22 for her career witj 21 points against Florida.

Poindexter Near the Top in NCAA Stats
•       Temira Poindexter ranks 11th nationally for scoring with a 22.1 average after 10 games … Iowa's Caitlin Clark leads the nation with a 29.5 average.
•       Poindexter's 221 points ranks eighth in NCAA stats, while she ranks 11th for field goals (81), seventh for field goal attempts (185) and ninth for three-point attempts (85).
 
All-Around Player
•       Delanie Crawford is not only scoring 17.7 points per game to rank second on the roster, but the junior has done it efficiently.
•       Crawford has a .475 field goal percentage, .435 from three-point range and .810 from the charity stripe.
•       Crawford is among the top-10 in The American for all three shooting categories – FG percentage (8th), three-point percentage (8th) and free throw percentage (8th).
•       She is also second on the team for rebounding (6.2) and third for assists (2.4).
 
Periman on the Boards 
•       Sophomore Hadley Periman came into her second season with zero double-figure rebounding games, and through the first 10 games this year has already grabbed double-digit rebounds in four games.
