Tulsa had 33 points from the bench, led by Cartwright's 14 while fellow freshman Elise Hill added a season-high nine points.

"I'm really proud of our of our team today," said Head Coach Angie Nelp. "It was so much fun to be able to have a total team effort on the floor. Really proud of our defense for holding them to 22% from the field. That was huge for us to be able to get out in transition. We were able to keep the pace and keep it at a high tempo, especially in that second quarter. You know, in that second quarter stretch where we kind of went on our run it was because we were able to hold them defensively and rebound the ball and push tempo."

The Hurricane had a 15-point lead after one quarter and expanded its lead to 33 points at halftime, 52-19. Tulsa outscored the Lady Tigers 23-8 in the first 10 minutes and 29-11 in the second period.

After Texas Southern outscored Tulsa 15-13 in the third period, the Hurricane turned the tables in the fourth with a 17-to-11 scoring advantage. Tulsa had its largest lead of 42 points when Cartwright scored on a driving layup for a 76-34 lead with 6:12 remaining in the contest.
