ORLANDO, Fla. — The University of Tulsa men's basketball will finish a two-game road swing with a matchup with UCF in Addition Financial Arena on Saturday evening.

Tipoff for the American Athletic Conference matchup is set for 6 p.m. (CT) and will air on ESPN+. Austin Lyon and B.J. Taylor will bring fans the action. Bruce Howard and JR Rollo will broadcast the radio call on Big Country 99.5 FM and The Varsity Network app.

The Golden Hurricane (5-18, 1-11 The American) and UCF (14-9, 5-6 AAC) will face off for the first time this season. The Knights are one of the two American Athletic Conference foes Tulsa has yet to play this season. The other is South Florida, who will visit the Donald W. Reynolds Center on Wednesday.

UCF and Tulsa will play each other for the 28th time on Saturday. Tulsa holds a 15-12 advantage in the series, but the Knights have dominated at home, taking 11 of 14 against the Hurricane in Orlando. TU has not beaten the Knights on the road since Feb. 21, 2016 and have lost five in a row since.

The last time UCF and Tulsa met was Senior Day in the Reynolds Center on March 6. The Hurricane capped a late comeback with Jeriah Horne's miraculous jumper from just beyond half court, which beat the buzzer and sent the home crowd into a frenzy.

This season, Tulsa is seeking its first conference win on the road and is attempting to snap a five-game slide. In the first game of the road trip, TU took on the second-ranked Houston Cougars. Despite a hot start to the game, Houston was just too much for Tulsa and the Hurricane shot season lows from the field and 3-point line in an 80-42 loss.

Tim Dalger has emerged on the offensive side of the ball as of late, scoring in double figures in five of the past six games, including a 24-point career high performance against Wichita State. He's now scored 10 or more in nine games this season after only accomplishing this three times in 2021-22. The junior forward is averaging 15.3 points over the six-game stretch with shooting clips of 47.8 percent from the floor and 42.9 percent on 3-pointers.

UCF started its season playing fantastic basketball, collecting nonconference wins against Oklahoma State in overtime, Florida State and Ole Miss while taking Miami and Missouri to the wire in one possession losses. Though the Knights have somewhat cooled off in conference play, holding a 5-6 record heading into Saturday, they've still shown how capable they are with a season sweep against Wichita State and a double overtime win against Memphis. The team's recent win in Wichita was the school's first road win against the Shockers.

Taylor Hendricks leads four Knights who average double figures in scoring, putting up 14.7 per contest while shooting 47.4 percent from the floor. The 6-9 forward is also the team's leader in rebounds, grabbing 7.1 boards a night. For the second time in as many games, the Hurricane will play a top-five defense in the conference. UCF holds opponents to 41.3 percent shooting from the floor, which ranks third in the conference and 62nd nationally.

Following Saturday's game, the Hurricane will return home for a midweek game against South Florida before going right back on the road to face Temple on Sunday. Tipoff for Wednesday's game with the Bulls is set for 7 PM and will air on ESPN+.
