No. 56 Hurricane Falls at No. 26 Memphis

MEMPHIS, TENN. — The University of Tulsa men's tennis team fell short 4-2 to the No. 26 Memphis Tigers (6-2) Sunday at the MUS Tennis Complex in Memphis.

The loss drops the Golden Hurricane to 5-5 on the season.

The doubles point came down to the No. 2 position after TU's Ezequiel Santalla and Stefan Hampe won the No. 3 spot and Connor Di Marco and Kody Pearson dropped a 7-6(5) decision at No. 1. Daniel Siddall and Timothy Carlsson Seger forced a tie at 6-6 and prevailed 9-7 in the tiebreaker set to secure the Hurricane's first point of the dual match.Â

Singles play was highlighted for Tulsa by senior Kody Pearson, who battled to a three-set victory (5-7, 6-3, 6-2) over the Tigers' No. 35 Pablo Alemany at the No. 1 position. On the season, Pearson is now 3-0 against nationally ranked singles players and 7-1 overall at the No. 1 slot.

Memphis would win the bottom four positions to close out the 4-2 decision over the Hurricane.

Tulsa will return home to host No. 17 Arizona on Wednesday, Mar. 8, at 6 p.m.
