TULSA, Okla. — Following a pair of strong performances at last week's Bryan Clay Invitational and Sooner Invite and Multi's, The University of Tulsa track team will continue its outdoor season at two meets on Friday, April 21.

27 runners—15 women and 12 men—will race in the John McDonnell Invitational at Arkansas, while Shuaib Aljabaly, Scott Beattie, and Malte Propp will head back to Stanford to race in the men's 5,000-meter run at the Payton Jordan Invitational.

Golden Hurricane runners raced in both meets last year. At the John McDonnell, Evan Sanni-Thomas and Anna Mager highlighted the meet for TU. Sanni-Thomas grabbed a second-place finish in the men's 200-meter dash while Mager took fourth overall in the women's 400-meter dash.

At the Payton Jordan last season, five Tulsa runners jumped onto the all-time TU leaderboards, including Scott Beattie, who ran the then-third fastest outdoor 5,000-meters (now fourth-fastest) in 13:31.34. He'll have a chance to improve on that mark on Friday.
