TULSA, Okla. — Looking to build on last week's successes, The University of Tulsa track team will send 32 athletes to another pair of meets this week.

16 runners—nine women and seven men—will race Thursday and Friday at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, while the other half of this week's Golden Hurricane squad, comprised of 10 women and six men, will head north to Lawrence compete at the Rock Chalk Classic, hosted by Kansas on Saturday, April 29.

Tulsa raced in both meets last year. At the Drake Relays, veteran runners Malte Propp, Layla Roebke and Sara Scott were among five TU athletes to place in the top-10 in their respective events. Roebke and Scott will have the opportunity to repeat the feat on Thursday as the pair will race together in the women's 5,000-Meter Open.

At last year's Rock Chalk Classic, Tulsa had 14 top-10 performances, including a second-place finish by Josh Sutton (10.64) in the men's 100-meter dash. He was a leg on the 4x100-meter relay squad that also finished second overall. Sutton will appear in both the 100-meter dash and 4x400-meter relay on Saturday.

Action for the Hurricane begins on Thursday with the women's 1,500-meters (Keely Jones) at 4:58 p.m., while Saturday's action in Kansas starts at 11 a.m. with the men's long jump (Dillon Stinson).
