
Tulsa’s Annie Young Named to WGCA Coach of the Year Watch List

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. –– The University of Tulsa women's golf coach Annie Young was one of 24 head coaches named today to the watch list for the 2022-23 Division I Jackie Steinmann WGCA National Coach of the Year Presented by Golf Pride, as announced by the Women's Golf Coaches Association. The award will be announced after medal play at the upcoming NCAA Championship.
Young, in her fifth year at Tulsa, led the Golden Hurricane to the NCAA Championship for the first time in 15 years. The Hurricane finished among the top-five in eight of 12 tournaments, including two wins, one second-place finish and three third-place performances. Tulsa captured its wins at the Barbara Nicklaus Cup and Dale McNamara Invitational.
The Hurricane enter the NCAA Championship ranked 33rd in GolfWeek and 36th in the Golfstat rankings.
Recognized as the highest annual coaching honor in women's collegiate golf, the Jackie Steinmann WGCA National Coach of the Year Presented by Golf Pride is awarded annually to the top coach in Division I, II III and NAIA women's golf. The recipient is selected by a prestigious collection of women's collegiate golf coaches who follow criteria that has been established to identify the top head coach for the past year.

About the Women's Golf Coaches Association
The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches.
