Tulsa’s Beattie and Dalton Qualify for the NCAA Championship in the 10,000 Meters

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — University of Tulsa track veterans Scott Beattie and Cormac Dalton placed fourth and fifth in the 10,000-meter semifinal at the NCAA West Regionals Wednesday at Sacramento State's Hornet Stadium, punching in their tickets to the NCAA Championship meet in Austin, Texas, in June. They are among 12 athletes advancing to the championship.
Beattie (28:21.971) and Dalton (28:21.978) crossed the finish line within seven-hundredths of a second of each other, with Beattie edging out Dalton as the fourth overall finisher. The senior Golden Hurricane pair mark as the eighth and ninth student-athletes in program history to advance to the NCAA 10,000-meter final.
Junior Josh Sutton placed 45th in the first round of the 100-meters, clocking in at 10.59.
Action for Tulsa continues Thursday as sophomore Anna Mager will race in the 400-meter hurdles at 10:20 p.m. central time.
