Tulsa’s Mager Advances to 400-Meter Hurdles Quarterfinal at NCAA West Regionals

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — As the lone University of Tulsa runner at the NCAA West Regional on Thursday, Anna Mager clocked a 59.16 finish in the 400-meter hurdles for 21st place. The sophomore from Wolfurt, Austria, will race among the remaining 24 athletes in the quarterfinal round, scheduled for Saturday at 9:25 p.m. central time.
Mager is the fourth female Golden Hurricane in program history to race in the 400-meter hurdles at the NCAA regional level and the first since April Montgomery (2009) to advance to the quarterfinal round in the event.
Regional action continues Friday for Tulsa with the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase (Christian Baker) at 7:40 p.m. and the men's 5,000-meters (Shay McEvoy) at 10:10 p.m.
