Both Come and Play sessions (6-8 p.m. on June 4 and July 9) are designed to be fun and competitive scrimmage opportunities for players entering grades 7-12. Play will consist of four-on-four, five-on-five and six-on-six drills. Tulsa coaches and players will help lead drills. At $25 per entry, players will wave through different teams and have an opportunity to compete and improve on skills within a scrimmage environment.
The Little Hurricane Volleyball Clinic is designed to be a high-energy camp for kids entering preschool through second grade. The camp will teach the fundamentals of volleyball to beginner-level players. It will be high-energy with interactive games to help teach the game of volleyball to young players. The camp will run from 8:30-11 a.m. from June 5-6 and costs $75 per player.
Also running June 5-6 from 1-4 p.m., the All Skills Clinic is available for both beginners and advanced youth players entering grades 3-8. This camp will cover all skills including passing, setting, attacking and serving. The camp is designed to teach the fundamentals of volleyball in a competitive and high-energy environment at a cost of $125 per camper. The goal is for every camper to improve their overall volleyball skills at the end of the two-day clinic.
The July slate of camps begins with the All Skills Day Camp on the 10th. Open to youth players entering grades 3-8 at $125 per athlete, this camp will cover all skills including passing, setting, attacking and serving. At $125 per camper, these camps are designed for beginners as well as advanced players looking to go in-depth on improving their skills. Players will be divided based on skill level and receive drills from the Golden Hurricane staff and players. At the end of the camp, campers will combine and put their skills to the test in a game-setting simulation.
The Team Camp (July 12-13) is a competitive camp designed to work on the different phases of the game—such as side out, transition and team offense and defense. There will be tournament play, so teams can apply skill work to game-like settings. Tulsa volleyball staff and players will serve as coaches, helping to run drills and provide feedback to players. Included will be a coach's clinic, where there will be a whiteboard session on important team management topics and various areas of the game. There are limited spots available and the cost to attend is $150 per athlete at a minimum of eight campers per team.
The final summer camp is the College Experience Camp set for July 14-15. The event is designed for players with club-level experience and will provide campers with high-level college training within a highly competitive environment with quality feedback from Tulsa volleyball staff and players. This camp is not an overnight camp, so campers will be responsible for their own lodging arrangement. The camp fee ($185 per player) includes dinner on July 14 and lunch on July 15.
