Cassaday Named to American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll

Fifth-year outside hitter Kayley Cassaday was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll Monday. It is the ninth career weekly conference award for the Overland Park, Kan., native.

Cassaday commanded the flow of the offense in the Golden Hurricane's opening weekend at the Razorback Classic. She knocked away 34 total kills, splitting evenly at 17 kills per match. In the win over Michigan State, Cassaday added 15 digs to secure her first double-double of the year. Against Arkansas, she committed only one attack error to finish as Tulsa's most efficient hitter with an attack percentage of .372.

Tulsa is back in action Sept. 1-2 to compete in the Cougar Challenge. The Hurricane will face Drake (0-3) and Northwestern State (0-3) on Friday and will take on the host, No. 21 Washington State (2-1), on Saturday.
