Cassaday Named to Second Consecutive AAC Weekly Honor Roll

IRVING, Texas — Graduate outside hitter Kayley Cassaday was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll Monday. It is her second consecutive weekly conference award this season and tenth overall for the Overland Park, Kan., native.
Cassaday was a consistent performer for the Golden Hurricane at Washington State's Cougar Invitational last week. She slammed down 45 total kills and kept the ball alive with 19 digs. She also clipped an average hitting percentage of .237 with only 17 attack errors in a whopping 118 attacks for TU.
Cassaday's best performance came against the 17th-ranked Cougars, where she led Tulsa with 14 kills and eight digs. She had a near-perfect first set to start the match, knocking down seven kills in nine attempts without a single error on the way to hitting .346 on the night.
Tulsa will return to the Donald W. Reynolds Center for the first time this season to host its 2023 home opener Thursday against cross-town rival Oral Roberts, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The match will be the first of three from this week's Tulsa Invitational with matches against UT Arlington and Central Arkansas rounding out the third week of non-conference play for TU.
