Golden Hurricane Places 9th at Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate

FORT WORTH, Texas –– The University of Tulsa women's golf team finished the fall schedule with a 9th place finish at the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate at the Ridglea Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. The Golden Hurricane carded a +38 890 over the 54-hole tournament.
Tulsa closed with its best round of the tournament, shooting 8-over, 292 on Tuesday to finish three strokes behind Oklahoma and seven behind Baylor in seventh. No. 15 Wake Forest took the team title, carding a +5, 857 over the two days. Texas A&M (859), SMU (864), TCU (866) and Oklahoma State (869) rounded out the top five.
Texas A&M's Cayetana Fernandez took home the individual title, putting up a final two rounds of -1 and -3 to finish 4-under for the tournament.
Lovisa Gunnar shot even par on Tuesday to move up six places and finish 13th after carding a +4 for the tournament. She started the day on hole 10 with a birdie sandwiched between a pair of bogeys, but rattled off four straight pars before a birdie on four got her back to even. Gunnar closed with a bogey on eight and birdie on nine.
Sydney Seigel finished two strokes behind Gunnar in 22nd. Seigel recorded a birdie on 14 and finished one-over on the day. Allyn Stephens shot even par to finish +13, moving up 13 spots into 40th. Jenni Roller (+18) placed 53rd and Norah Seidl (+25) finished 57th to round out the Tulsa golfers.
Tulsa golf returns will return to competitive action February 2-4 with the UCF Challenge in Orlando, Florida.
