Championship Banner Reveal
- The Tulsa Golden Hurricane women's basketball will unveil its 2023-24 American Athletic Conference regular season championship banner in the rafters of the Donald W. Reynolds Center during pregame.
- TU went 13-5 in conference play last season to claim a share of the title.
- The first 500 fans in the Reynolds Center will receive a free championship rally towel.
Taking on the Golden Lions
- This will be the fifth meeting between TU and Arkansas-Pine Bluff ... the Hurricane lead the series 4-0 heading into Wednesday's game.
- The two teams met a year ago in the Van Chancellor Classic on Nov. 24 ... it was the only game that ended in overtime for the Hurricane last season, ending in a 90-79 winner.
- UAPB finished their 2023-24 season with a 17-16 overall record and an 8-9 road mark.
- The lions dropped their season opener 96-43 to Oklahoma State on Monday in Stillwater ... the UAPB bench combined for 26 points, led by Jailah Pelly's 15 points and Kristyna Boyd added five points.
- UAPB is under new leadership in Erica Leak. It's the first head coaching stint for the 2011 LA Tech grad.
- 10 transfers and three returners make up the 2024-25 Lions' roster.
Tulsa in Season Openers
- The Golden Hurricane women begin their 40th season on Wednesday against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
- TU is 15-24 in season openers and 3-0 under fourth-year head coach Angie Nelp, who led the Hurricane to wins over Duquesne (77-62) in 2021, Alcorn State (82-33) in 2022 and Lindenwood (89-80) in 2023.
- Tulsa has won its last four season openers and five of its last six.
Crawford Already Racking up Awards
- Preseason expectations for senior guard Delanie Crawford are high as the returning All-American from Piedmont, Okla., has been named to two preseason honors.
- The WBCA selected Crawford as one of 25 hoopers from around the country to the 2025 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Watch List, becoming the first Golden Hurricane player to represent Tulsa on any Hammon Award watch list.
- Crawford was also voted to the American Athletic Conference Preseason All-Conference First Team by the league's coaches.
Tulsa Returns an All-American in Delanie Crawford
- Delanie Crawford is back for her fourth and final season with the Golden Hurricane.
- The senior from Piedmont, Okla., is coming off a tremendous 2023-24 junior season where she started in all 35 games and averaged 19.0 points (665), 5.7 rebounds (201), 2.7 assists (95) and 1.1 steals (39) per contest. She finished 33 games with 10 or more points, 15 games over 20 points, and three games scoring over 30. On defense, she added five double-figure rebounding contests to earn five double-doubles.
- By the end of last year, Crawford had set the program record for most three-point buckets in a season with 99, third for total points (665) and field goals made (219) and fourth for points per game (19.0).
- Crawford's accolades began to pile up as she dominated the court week in and week out a year ago. She was named Tulsa's fourth all-time WBCA Coaches' All-American, for which she took home Honorable Mention status and was named a Region 3 finalist for. In The American, she was named the league's Most Improved Player of the Year and Second Team All-Conference following six AAC weekly honor roll awards and one Player of the Week honor.

Nine Newcomers Highlight the Roster
- Tulsa's roster features nine newcomers to the program, including five transfers and four true freshmen.
- Portal additions include redshirt freshman Tobi Ademuwagun (pronounced ah-day-moo-wag-gun) from Penn, senior Kristol Ayson from Jacksonville State, redshirt junior Paige Bradley and sophomore Jade Clack from TCU and sophomore McKayla Miller from Creighton.
- The four freshmen looking for their first collegiate action are the twins from Houston, Brooklyn and Kennedi Alexander, Brynn Eshoo of Inverness, Ill. and Whitney Sullivan from Orangeville, Ill.
Hurricane Selected 4th in Coaches' Poll
- The AAC women's basketball coaches have chosen Tulsa to finish fourth in the league after taking a share of the regular season championship last season and the No. 1 seed in the conference championship.
- TU ties the program's highest selection in the AAC preseason poll ... Tulsa was previously voted 4th ahead of the 2022-23 season in Angie Nelp's second season at the helm.
Nelp has 50 Wins
- Tulsa's Angie Nelp won her 50th career game in her three seasons with a 65-55 win at Charlotte on Jan. 27, 2024.
- She finished her third year with a 59-34 career record in her three years at Tulsa.
- No previous Tulsa coach had reached 50 wins in their first three seasons … only three other Tulsa head coaches won more than 50 games in their careers.
