Facing Rice
•      This is the 40th meeting between Tulsa and Rice and the second this season.
•      Rice leads the overall series 25-14, while Tulsa has won three of the last four meetings.
•      Tulsa captured a 70-65 home win earlier this season on Jan. 24, as Delanie Crawford's 26 points led Tulsa.
 
7-3 in AAC Play & Tied for The Lead
•     Tulsa has a 7-3 American Athletic Conference record and sits in a three-way tie for first place with North Texas and UAB
•     The Hurricane opened the AAC season two straight wins, before falling twice to even the league record at 2-2.
•        Tulsa won four straight AAC games with wins at FAU and Charlotte and home wins against Wichita State and Rice, before losing at ECU then rebounding against first-place North Texas last Saturday.
•        The last time Tulsa had been in a share for first place at this point of the season came in 2005-06 when the Hurricane finished 26-6 and winners of Conference USA.
 
A Closer Look into Tulsa's 7-3 AAC Record
•        In Tulsa's seven AAC wins, the Hurricane has averaged 75.8 points (531), while holding the opposition to 64.5points (452) for a 11.3-win margin.
•        Tulsa is shooting 44.4% from the field (187-421), 40% from 3-point range (76-190) and 69.2% from the free throw line (81-117).
•     In the three losses, Tulsa has shot just 31.8% (49-154) from the field, 19.4% from 3-point range (13-67) and 59.6% from the free throw line.
•     The Hurricane had a season-low .280 field goal percentage against Temple and had its third sub-20% 3-point shooting night of the year at East Carolina.
 
Tulsa Takes Down Co-Leader North Texas
•      Delanie Crawford scored a game-high 31 points in leading Tulsa to a 79-74 come-from-behind victory over North Texas on Feb. 4.
•      Tulsa took a 44-37 lead into halftime, but North Texas rebounded to outscore the
        Hurricane 16-8 in the third period for a 53-52 lead heading into the final 10 minutes.
•      UNT went on a 14-5 run for the first 4:57 minutes of the fourth quarter for a 67-57 lead with 5:03 remaining in the contest.
•      Katia Gallegos' driving layup began a 22-7 run over the final 4:36 that led Tulsa to the victory.
 
Nelp Reaches 50 Wins
•     Tulsa's Angie Nelp won her 50th career game in her three seasons with a 65-55 win at
       Charlotte.
•     She now has a 51-30 record in her three years at Tulsa.
•     No previous Tulsa coach had reached 50 wins in their first three seasons … only three other
       Tulsa head coaches won more than 50 games in their careers.
 
The Junior Duo Making History
•     Temira Poindexter and Delanie Crawford have made one formidable tandem for Tulsa.
•      The duo has combined to average 38.8 points for 55-percent of Tulsa's total points.
•      They have become the first pair of Tulsa players in the same season with multiple 30+ scoring games in school history, with two each.
•      They are also the second pair to score 400+ points in the same season … the others were Jillian Robbins (573) and Megan Moody (417) in 2005-06.
•      Poindexter and Crawford have combined for 24 20+ scoring games this season.
•      The tandem is totaling 54-percent of Tulsa's field goals made, 61-percent of the team's treys and 59-percent from the free throw line.
•      The have also combined for 28.6-percent of Tulsa's rebounds and 35-percent of Tulsa's assists.
•      The pair ranks first and third in the American Athletic Conference for scoring – Poindexter (19.8) ranks first and Crawford (19.0) is third.

Poindexter Moving Up Career Lists
•       Temira Poindexter ranks on the school's all-time top-10 lists for points (1,282) in eighth place, blocks (126) for fifth place, field goals made (470) for fifth place and 3-point field goals made (148) for ninth place.
•       Poindexter averages 15.8 points in 81 career games.
•       Poindexter needs 19 more points to tie Lila Osceola (1,301 pts, 1996-00) for seventh place.
•       She became just the 12th player in school history to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
•       She reached the 1,000-point mark by scoring 15 points at TCU on Dec. 1, which was her 66th career game played … she became the second-fastest to reach 1,000 career points, behind Jillian Robbins (2003-07), who accomplished the feat in 63 games.
•       Poindexter needs one more block to tie for fourth place, 123 field goals shy of fourth place and five three-pointers shy of seventh place.

•    Temira Poindexter has now scored in double-digits in all 23 games this year and for the 68th time in 81 career games.

Crawford Nets Another 30 Points, Approaching 1,000
•       Delanie Crawford has been consistent for the Hurricane this season … she is not only scoring 19.0 points per game to rank second on the roster and third in the American Athletic Conference, but the junior has done it efficiently.
•       Crawford has a .454 field goal percentage, .414 from three-point range and .830 from the charity stripe.
•       She had her second 30+ scoring night with 31 points against North Texas (2/4/24).
•       Crawford is just 33 points shy of reaching 1,000 career points with 967 points.
•       In 10 AAC games, Crawford has a team-high 21.0 scoring average, while shooting .425 from the field, .420 from behind the arc and .868 from the free throw line.
•       Overall, Crawford is also second on the team for rebounds (136) for a 5.9 average and leads Tulsa in assists with 61 for a 2.7 average.
•       Crawford has 21 double-digit scoring games and leads Tulsa with three double-figure rebounding games and three double-doubles.
•       Against Rice with the score tied 65-65, Crawford hit four straight free throws in the final 0:29 to help secure the win for the Hurricane.
•       Crawford scored 20 of Tulsa's 48 points against SE Louisiana, and the most important ones came with 0:01 left in the game when she made 2-of-2 free throws for a 48-47 victory.
•       For her career, Crawford now has 936 career points in 79 career games, needing 64 more points to become the 13th player in school history and the second current Tulsa player to reach 1,000 career points.

Katia Returns to the Lineup in a Big Way
•       Tulsa senior guard Katia Gallegos started the first 13 games before missing the next nine contests with an injury.
•       She returned against North Texas and in Tulsa's fourth quarter comeback victory Gallegos scored seven points and had one assist, one steal and one rebound while playing 7:27 in the period … all seven of her points came in the final 4:36 with Tulsa trailing by 10 points.
•       This year Gallegos has shown her ability to score.
•       A year ago, in her first with the Hurricane, Gallegos averaged just 2.3 points, while shooting 23% from the field and 10% from behind the arc.
•       Gallegos scored just 45 points in 20 games a year ago, while this year she has totaled 95 points for a 6.8 scoring average in 14 games.
•       She also averages 2.7 assists, 3.4 rebounds and is shooting 49% from the field.
•       Gallegos has four double-figure scoring games this year as compared to zero last season.
•       She scored her Tulsa career-high of 18 points twice this year, coming against Lindenwood and UAPB.
