Tulsa Rowers Take All Four Races Against Creighton

TULSA, Okla. –– The Tulsa Golden Hurricane rowing team claimed victories in all four races against the Creighton Bluejays on a chilly Saturday morning at the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest in Catoosa, Okla. The boats raced against a head wind of 8-10 mph with a mild chop on the water.

The Varsity 4+ was the first boat to race on the Verdigras River today as the Hurricane clocked a time of 8:57.8, beating Creighton by more than 15 seconds as the Bluejays clocked a time of 9:13.3

Tulsa's 1^st Varsity 8+ boat outdistanced Creighton by nearly 0:20 with a winning time of 6:54.1. In the 2^nd Varsity 8+ race, Tulsa clocked a time of 7:16.8 to Creighton's 7:59.3. Tulsa's 3^rd Varsity 8+ boat finished with a 7:36.5 time, while Creighton came in at 9:57.6 after a Bluejay rower lost a seat at 500 meters.

"I want to thank Creighton for coming to Tulsa to race. Also, a big thank you goes out to our fans and supporters who were there to cheer on our team on senior day, said Tulsa Head Coach Brandon Campbell. "Overall, our team performed well today and certainly has stepped forward from our race at the beginning of March. We are looking forward to hitting the road next week and racing at the Sunshine Invitational."

Tulsa will be in action on March 29-30 at the Sunshine State Invitational in Sarasota, Fla.
