Tulsa Secures 14 Top-10 Finishes at UTA Invitational

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Tulsa track and field teams opened the outdoor season Friday at the UTA Invitational in Arlington, Texas, and enjoyed 14 top-10 performances and saw four Golden Hurricane make the podiums.
 
Women
Sophomore Sarah Hosey had a strong start to her season when she crossed the finish line of the 1,500-meter run in 4:33.24. It's a new personal best outdoor mark for the Limerick, Ireland.
 
Redshirt senior Katharina Pesendorfer competed in her first outdoor meet in two years on Friday. The returning three-time outdoor all-conference runner made the podium in the 800-meters in a finishing time of 2:16.94, good for third place.
 
All three competitors in the 200-meter dash finished within the top 10, with junior Kamree Dye leading the way with a sixth-place finish in 25.10, followed by sophomore Raniya Laneau (25.30) for seventh place and freshman Sajara Hill (25.47) for 10th.
 
Men
Junior Evan Sanni-Thomas continued his podium-finishing ways when he finished third in the 400-meter dash in 47.43. It's The Woodlands, Texas, native's fourth time taking home a top-three finish this year after earning three during the indoor season. Dillon Stinson, Jonathan Lee and Brennon Mason each set new personal bests in the event.
 
Tulsa had four men finish among the top 20 in the first outdoor action for the Hurricane. Redshirt freshman Iain Salter took sixth place in 3:58.42, freshman James Knockton grabbed ninth in 3:59.98, junior transfer Colton Berquist finished 13th in 4:02.45 and redshirt freshman Grant Brawley placed 19th in 4:07.72.
