Three Women’s Tennis Student-Athletes Named CSC Academic All-District

TULSA, Okla. — University of Tulsa women's tennis players Lily Hutchings, Oleksandra Nahurska and Ana Naranjo Martinez have been named to the Academic All-District Team, announced Tuesday by College Sports Communicators (CSC). This honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the courts and in the classroom. The award-winning Tulsa women bring home the award after helping sweep the UTR Sports NIT Championship titles alongside the Tulsa men's tennis team.
 
A junior from Preston, England, Hutchings maintains a 3.697 GPA in exercise and sports science. Hutchings went 14-12 in singles play and 16-11 in doubles action in 2023-24. In dual matches, she went 12-11 at No. 3 Singles and 16-11 the No. 1 Doubles spot with a 2-1 record against nationally ranked tandems. During the season, Hutchings helped clinch the doubles point for TU against Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Purdue and Wyoming in the NIT Championship Quarterfinal while earning the clinching point in singles play during Tulsa's 7-0 sweep of Omaha in the season-opener.
 
Holding a 3.611 GPA in business administration, Nahurska, a fifth-year senior, earned an 18-11 singles record, including a 9-9 mark as TU's No. 2 player. She earned her first career ITA singles ranking of 125 at the end of the fall season and was the clinching point in the Hurricane's team victories over her former team in Oral Roberts (7-0) and Abilene Christian (7-0). In doubles, Nahurska went 4-4 with teammate Naranjo in the final eight duals of the year, clinching the doubles score for Tulsa in the title match against Colorado for the NIT Championship.
 
Naranjo, a junior from Michoacan, Mexico, holds a 3.667 GPA in exercise and sports science. Naranjo enjoyed her best year with the Hurricane, earning career-high singles records of 19-11 overall and 14-8 in dual matches. She earned the clinching point for Tulsa three times this year including No. 63 Wichita State (4-1) in the regular season followed by Wyoming (4-0) and West Virginia (4-3) in the NIT Championship Quarterfinal and Semifinal rounds to send the Hurricane to the title match. In doubles action, she went 16-13 and helped clinch the doubles point against Omaha, Oral Roberts, Central Arkansas, Wichita State and Colorado. Naranjo was named Women's MVP following Tulsa's win of the NIT Championship title over Colorado.
