
10 Cross Country and Track and Field Student-Athletes Named CSC Academic All-District

TULSA, Okla. — Ten student-athletes from The University of Tulsa cross country and track and field teams have been named to the Academic All-District Team, announced Tuesday by College Sports Communicators (CSC). This year's award has been given to five men and five women who have achieved cumulative GPAs of 3.5 or higher and hold a top 50 regional mark in at least one event this year.
Earning the award on the women's side were Chloe Hershenow, Lianne Holtermann, Ailey Mitchell, Katharina Pesendorfer and Elizabeth Roca, while the men include Jaden Forester, Charlie Krasnoff, Sean Korsmo, Chris McLeod and Malte Propp.
A distance runner from St. Louis, Mo., Hershenow is a 4.0 graduate student in mechanical engineering. She was a three-time American Athletic Conference individual champion in both the indoor and outdoor 5,000-meter runs as well as the outdoor 10,000-meters. She concluded the 2023-24 year ranked 10th in the Midwest Region in the indoor 5,000-meters (16:19.84), 37th in the indoor mile (4:48.19), 40th in the indoor 3,000-meters (9:34.72) and placed 41st in the NCAA Cross Country Midwest Regional 6K (23:34.6).
Holtermann, a sprinter from Arnhem, Netherlands, possesses a 4.0 GPA in exercise and sports science. The sophomore was a key piece of Tulsa's women's distance medley relay during the AAC Indoor Championships, placing second and earning all-conference honors in 11:38.43, the 15th-fastest mark in the region.
Hailing from Shelbyville, Ill., Mitchell maintains a 4.0 GPA in biological science. After the graduate student joined the Golden Hurricane over the semester break, she became the 24th fastest runner in the Midwest Region in the indoor 5,000-meters, clocking in at 16:39.47.
Pesendorfer, a distance runner from Salzberg, Austria, held a 3.86 GPA while pursuing her MBA. She was a three-time all-conference runner this year in the indoor mile, indoor distance medley relay and outdoor steeplechase. The AAC steeplechase champion was ranked 29th in the region in the steeplechase (10:21.13) and 39th in the indoor mile (4:48.40).
Rounding out the women is Roca, a senior sprinter from Austin Texas. A biological science major with a 3.72 GPA, Roca was an all-conference performer in the indoor 400-meter dash, placing third at the AAC meet and finishing the year ranked 11th in the event regionally in 53.97. She was also the 50th-fastest runner in the indoor 200-meters.
Forester, a distance runner who transferred in from New Orleans, is a 4.0 graduate student majoring in cyber security. The La Mesa, Calif., native concluded the year ranked 29th in the Midwest Region indoor 3,000-meter run (8:06.42) and 33rd in the indoor mile (4:06.20).
A redshirt freshman from St. Louis, Krasnoff has a 4.0 GPA in business information systems. The 2023 AAC Men's Cross Country Freshman of the Year led the Tulsa men in both the conference and regional meet with fourth and 12th place finishes, respectively. He also ranked 45th in the Midwest in the indoor 3,000-meters (8:12.25) and indoor 5,000-meters (14:31.08) and earned all-conference honors in the outdoor 10,000-meters with a third-place finish at the AAC meet in 30:42.38.
Coming from Bismarck, N.D., Korsmo possesses a 3.82 in communication and media studies. The junior distance runner made his mark on the region during the indoor track season, finishing seventh in the Midwest as part of the AAC champion distance medley relay team (9:47.07) and 10th in the mile (3:59.96).
McLeod, a redshirt senior from Birmingham, England, is a 3.88 exercise and science major. McLeod helped the Hurricane men win their 10th consecutive AAC cross country title with an all-conference performance as Tulsa's third finisher and eighth overall placer. He placed 20th in the regional meet and was also an all-conference performer in the indoor 3,000 and 5,000-meter events. By the end of the year, McLeod was ranked ninth in the indoor 5,000-meters (13:49.99), 13th in the indoor 3,000-meters (7:58.80) and 29th in the outdoor 10,000-meters (28:40.83).
Propp graduated with a 3.76 GPA in management and business information systems. A Rostock, Germany, product, Propp was a four-time all-conference runner for the Hurricane this year. He helped Tulsa win its 10th straight men's title in the American Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships, finishing second on the team and seventh overall. In February he swept the 3,000 and 5,000-meter titles in the indoor AAC meet before taking a third-place finish in the conference's outdoor 5,000-meter run. He ended the year ranked sixth in the Midwest Region for the indoor 3,000-meters (7:52.47), eighth in the indoor 5,000-meters (13:47.96), 26th for the indoor mile (4:05.26) and 28th in the outdoor 10,000-meters (28:40.13).
