TULSA, Okla. — The Golden Hurricane volleyball team (3-1) will take a quick trip to South Tulsa Friday and Saturday to partake in the Oral Roberts Volleyball Invitational in the Mabee Center.

Tulsa will face Bethune-Cookman (1-2) and Sam Houston (1-2) in a doubleheader Friday, Sept. 6, at 11 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., respectively. Then, TU will wrap up the tournament against the hosting rival Oral Roberts Golden Eagles (0-3) on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 1:30 p.m.

The Tulsa-Oral Roberts match will stream on the Summit League Network ($).

This will be the first meeting between Tulsa and Bethune-Cookman, a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference. BCU is 1-2 to start the year after beating Manhattan College 3-1 and falling in 2-3 decisions to Portland and Stetson.

Tulsa and Sam Houston meet for the nineth time on Friday in a series that's knotted up at 4-4. The series has been an annual ordeal as the two teams have faced each other in each of the last three seasons. Tulsa's won the last two matchups, with last year ending in a hard-fought 3-2 decision at the Ole Miss Invite.

The annual rivalry between Tulsa and Oral Roberts will be reignited on Saturday as the Hurricane will take on the Golden Eagles on their home court to wrap up the tournament. The series dates to Tulsa's inaugural season in 1976, and the two teams have met 84 times. Though ORU still leads the series 57-27, Tulsa has won each of the last 15 matches with last season ending in a 3-0 sweep for the Hurricane at home.
