Fighting for Literacy Game
  • The University of Tulsa will use the TU-Charlotte game as a platform for Fighting for Literacy, a movement based on the advocation of increased access to reading education and initiatives to help children develop reading and writing skills.
  • Reading Partners of Tulsa will be hosting a book drive at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. Fans can donate a new or gently used children's book and receive a voucher for 2 half-price tickets.
 
The Series with Florida Atlantic
  • Saturday will be the fourth meeting between Tulsa and Florida Atlantic ... Tulsa leads the series 2-1
  • This will be just the second matchup in the Donald W. Reynolds Center. TU lost the first one 91-86 in Tulsa.
  • Tulsa won last year's matchup 81-72 in Boca Raton and the previous meeting at FAU's 2021 Thanksgiving Tournament, where Tulsa squeaked by the Owls 70-68. That was the only non-conference between the Hurricane and Owls.

Scouting the Owls from Boca Raton
  • Florida Atlantic is 9-8 overall and 1-3 to start AAC play. The Owls nabbed a 16-point win at East Carolina (64-48) on Jan. 4 and lost to UAB, Tulane and Temple, all at home.
  • The Owls were voted to finish last this season in the AAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
  • Three players average double-digit scoring with junior Mya Perry leading the way with 15.6 points per contest. Her teammate Stefanie Ingram is third in the league for assists per game (4.9).
  • Florida Atlantic is a strong rebounding team, collecting 42.41 boards per contest to lead The American and rank 23rd in the nation.
 
Home Court Advantage
  • The Hurricane has been deadly in the Donald W. Reynolds Center under fourth-year head coach Angie Nelp.
  • TU is 21-5 at home since the start of last season, 32-9 since 2022-23 and 40-14 since Nelp joined the program.

Crawford Set to Break TU Career 3-Point Record
  • Senior guard Delanie Crawford enters Wednesday's game against the Florida Atlantic Owls with 230 career triples across four seasons at TU.
  • The current record is held by Kelsee Grovey, who had 233 treys in 123 games in four seasons with the Hurricane.
  • Crawford needs just four to surpass the record. Wednesday will be her 110th career game.
 
Dynamic Crawford Can Do It All
  • It should come to no surprise that returning All-American Delanie Crawford continues to be a scoring leader in the AAC with her 18.3 points-per-game mark, the second-best effort in the league.
  • The multi-level scorer has earned double-digit points in all but one game, peaking with 36 against East Carolina (12/29) in the conference opener.
  • She enjoyed her 22nd career 20+ scoring game with 21 points at Temple (1/11)
  • This season, Crawford is averaging 6.7 FG, 2.7 3PT and 2.4 FT per game.
  • She's shooting .406 from the field (112-276), .324 in threes (46-142) and .911 at the charity stripe (41-45).
  • Crawford is also first in the AAC for field goal attempts (276) and 3-point attempts (142), second for field goals made (112), total points (311) and points per game (18.3) and third for 3-pointers per game (2.71) and total threes (46).
  • Her 132 3-point attempts are the fifth-most in Division I.
  • She has also been one of Tulsa's most prominent rebounders and assisters. Crawford is second on the team with 95 total rebounds, ranking only behind teammate Hadley Periman (7.7 rpg) with a 5.6 average per game.
  • Crawford also has the third-most assists on the team with 38 (2.2 apg).
  • She earned her first AAC Weekly Honorable Mention nod after earning a double-double with 25 points and 13 rebounds vs Chicago State. She picked up her second one after averaging 21.5 points across the two West Palm Beach Classic games (Montana and Tennessee), including tying her  season-high of 26 points in the win over Montana (12/20).
  • Crawford dropped 36 points on East Carolina (12/29) on a 14-20 clip from the field, 3-7 from three and 5-5 at the line, earning her second career AAC Player of the Week award and first of the season.
  • Crawford's led Tulsa in scoring 12 times this season and paced the Hurricane in rebounds and steals five times and assists four times.
 
Periman Scores, Boards and Blocks
  • After missing the first two games of the season and the Chicago State game (11/27) with injury, junior guard/forward Hadley Periman is still the Hurricane's top rebounder with 108 boards at a 7.7 rate per game.
  • She has 495 career rebounds with a career rate of 6.27 per game, marking the eighth-best average among all active players in the AAC.
  • Only two players in the league - ECU's Amiya Joyner (754) and South Florida's Carla Brito (631) have more career boards than Periman.
  • Periman also blocks the ball better than most in the conference this season with a 23 rejections at 1.64 per contest, the second-best marks in the league.
  • She ranks seventh in program history with 104 career rejections.
  • Periman has led TU in rebounding seven times, all in the last 10 games. She's also led the Hurricane in blocking in 11 games.
  • She had a 20-point, 11-board game against Kansas City (12/15) for her first career double-double and 20+ point game.
  • Periman came within two assists shy of a triple-double against Charlotte (1/8), finishing with 16 points, 15 boards, eight assists, three assists and two blocks and leading TU in the latter four categories.
 
Rolling Hill Continues to Succeed on the Floor
  • Sophomore guard Elise Hill has scored in double-figures in 10 of 17 games this season and in 12 of her last 20 games for the Hurricane dating back to the end of her freshman season last year.
  • She has scored 10 points once this year, 12 points on four occasions, 13 points against Marshall (11/23), 15 points against the league's toughest defense in UTSA (1/4), 18 points against Grambling (12/5) and a career-best 22 points at North Texas (1/1).
  • Hill called her own number in the waning seconds of the season-opener against UAPB, sinking the game-winning three-pointer with less than a second to go to seal the 63-60 win.
  • She went 8-14 with six treys for 22 points vs. UNT. It was the seventh-most threes in a game by a TU player and the fifth-most against a conference foe in TU program history.
  • Hill remains one of the AAC's best sharpshooters, ranking 12th with 1.82
  • She has also recorded 5+ assists four times this season and has 40 assists so far, ranking only behind Kristol Ayson (42, 2.5 apg) on TU.
  • Hill also thrives on defense, using her quickness and speed to steal the ball 25 times this season, ranking only behind teammates Kristol Ayson and Delanie Crawford.
  • Hill stole the ball from ECU (12/29) eight times for Tulsa's second-highest effort in history, spanning both nonconference and conference play.

Tidbits on the TCU Transfer Paige Bradley
  • Redshirt junior Paige Bradley, an offseason transfer from TCU, has made an immediate impact for the Hurricane with 16 starts in 17 games played.
  • She came to Tulsa with only three double-digit scoring games in her career. She has five this season.
  • Bradley is fourth on TU for rebounds (79) and boards per contest (4.6).
  • Bradley averages 7.7 points, the Hurricane's fourth-best mark.
  • Bradley had her first double-figure scoring game for Tulsa against Marshall (11/23) in the WBCA Showcase.
  • She also brought down a career-high 10 rebounds against Marshall (11/23), helping her achieve her first double-double.
  • The Hurricane is 6-3 when Bradley records three or more field goals.
  • Bradley took home her first career AAC Weekly Honorable Mention after averaging 16.0 points and 8.0 boards in wins over San Jose State (12/10) and Kansas City (12/15).
 
Cartwright the Swiss Army Knife
  • Mady Cartwright, a sophomore guard, shines on both offense and defense for the Hurricane.
  • She is one of three players to start every game this season, along with Delanie Crawford and Elise Hill.
  • Cartwright is seventh in the American Athletic Conference with a .714 free throw percentage (50-70).
