TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa women's tennis team has started the season 6-0 for the first time since 2019-20 after blowing through the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks 6-1 Sunday morning in the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

TU made quick work of the doubles point with senior duo Ana Naranjo Martinez and Mariana Manyoma Velasquez clinching the opening score with a dominant 6-1 performance in the 2-slot.

In singles play, Tulsa captured five of the six positions, three of which were in straight sets. Clinching the team win at 4-0 was sophomore Tayla Wilmot who closed out a 7-5, 6-1 result over Sonja Rooth in the No. 4 spot.

Positions three and six went to a 10-point tie break at two sets all. Freshman Isabella Basson fought back from down a set in the sixth position to prevail in a 14-12 tiebreak to finish Tulsa's 6-1 dominance of the Ladyjacks.

The Tulsa women will finish up their nine-match home streak with contests against Ole Miss (4-1) and Kansas City (0-1) next weekend and a test against No. 17 Oklahoma (4-0) on Tuesday, Feb. 4.
