Tulsa’s Brayden Hipp Earns Fourth American Setter of the Week Award

Beth Bayless Also Named a Weekly Honorable Mention
IRVING, Texas — For the fourth time this season and third week in a row, Golden Hurricane volleyball senior Brayden Hipp has been named the American Setter of the Week. Her teammate Beth Bayless also took home her first Weekly Honorable Mention award this season.
Hipp continues to hit her stride in the back half of the season, having another outstanding offensive performance for Tulsa in the road wins at Memphis (3-2) and UAB (3-0). Last week, she averaged 13 assists per set for 104 total assists, while putting up 2.75 digs in each stanza. Hipp also finished with a .441 setting percentage and earned her seventh and eighth double-doubles this year with a career-high 60 assists and 11 digs against Memphis on Friday and 44 assists and 11 digs at UAB on Sunday. She also had three setter dump kills against the Blazers.
From Fort Myers, Fla., Hipp is setting the ball better than every player in the conference through eight weeks of the season. She leads the American with 9.94 assists per set for 716 total assists and has the most Setter of the Week awards in the league with four. The next-closest player has just two.
Bayless, a senior from Tulsa, Okla., earns her first weekly honorable mention of the season and second of her career. Last week, she was the leading attacker for the Golden Hurricane, coming away with 4.0 kills per set for 32 total kills. She hit for .333 over the course of the two matches and peaked at .359 in the five-set win against the Tigers. Bayless had 15 kills, five digs and three blocks at Memphis before leading TU with 17 kills to go with seven digs and a block at UAB.
American Conference play continues this weekend as TU hosts North Texas for Tulsa Homecoming on Friday, October 24 (5:30 p.m.) and UTSA on Sunday, October 26 (1 p.m.). Both contests will air on ESPN+.

Ball Kid Signups
The Tulsa Volleyball team is looking for ball kids for the 2025 season. Ball kids and one accompanying parent or guardian will receive free admission for games they sign up for. Ball kids will retrieve balls that go out of bounds on the sidelines for the entire game and provide a fresh ball for servers. Only ages 10-12 are allowed to participate. Individual and group signups will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Sign up by clicking HERE.
