Men's Tennis Concludes Opening Day of ITA Central Sectional Championship

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Tulsa men's tennis wrapped up the opening day of action at the ITA Central Sectional Championships in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on Thursday.
Nikita Volonski fell in his round of 32 singles match to Texas A&M's Alexander Frusina, 6-0, 6-1, but bounced back with a 6-4, 2-0 victory over Arkansas' Ben Weintraub in consolation play after Weintraub withdrew due to injury. In doubles, Calum Jestin and Connor Doig dropped a 6-3, 6-3 decision to a Texas A&M duo in the round of 16.
Volonski, Jestin, and Doig will continue consolation play tomorrow, while Gus Tettamble, Takeshi Taco, Reiya Komagata, and Victor Tosetto continue their fall competition at the Cowboy Classic, hosted by Oklahoma State.
