12/28/2025 4:05:00 PM | Women's Golf
Goodyear, Ariz. –– The University of Tulsa women's golfers Allyn Stephens and Jenni Roller are set to tee off at the 2025 Patriot All-America Classic at the Wigwam Golf Resort in Litchfield Park, Arizona this week.
The tournament closes out the year, starting with 18 holes on Monday, Dec. 29 and running through New Year's Eve on Wednesday. The women will compete on the Blue Course, a par 70, 6,000-yard course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. The first two rounds begin at 10:30 a.m. (CT), with a 10:00 a.m. start for Tuesday's final round.
Stephens and Roller tee off at 10:40 CT (9:40 MT) off hole 10.
A unique touch to this Classic is, in addition to the 54 holes of stroke-play tournament, the golfers will honor military heroes. At the opening ceremony, each golfer receives and carries a commemorative PING golf bag bearing the name and branch of a wounded or fallen hero. Golfers also have an opportunity to visit Luke Air Force Base, which is the training base for American F-16 and F-35 fighter pilots.
"It's a great opportunity for our players to compete in one of the premier winter events in Arizona against an elite national field," Tulsa head coach Mike Roters said. "What makes the Patriot All-America especially meaningful is its partnership with Folds of Honor. Each player competes while honoring a fallen or wounded service member or first responder, which gives them perspective beyond the scorecard. It's a powerful reminder of the sacrifices selfless people have made for our country, and we're proud to be part of an event that represents something much bigger than golf."
Roller will carry the name of Private First Class, Chad M. Trimble, a West Covina, California native, who was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky. He died May 28, 2008, when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device near Gardez, Afghanistan.
Stephens' bag will wear the name of Lance Corporal Thomas A. Reilly Jr., a native of London, Kentucky was assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine Division, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. He was killed December 21, 2008, while supporting combat operations in Karmah, Anbar Province, Iraq, when a rocket propelled grenade struck the Humvee he was riding in. He had been deployed to Iraq in July 2008 and was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
This is the first tournament for Tulsa golfers since the Route 66 Invitational Honoring Dale McNamara in middle of October. The Golden Hurricane will start the spring season on January 30 at the Collegiate Invitational at Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico hosted by the University of Virginia.
