Hurricane Men Fall in 6-1 Setback to Nebraska

TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 match Sunday to the Nebraska Cornhuskers (6-3) on the indoor courts of the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, putting the Golden Hurricane at 6-6 on the season.

Tulsa had a one-court lead in doubles play after redshirt freshman Calum Jestin and redshirt junior Will Pellegrini captured the No. 3 position 6-3. But the Huskers had other ideas, taking the first and second positions to win the doubles point.

After Nebraska ran away with a straight-set win in the fourth spot, junior Luis Felipe Miguel retaliated with a 6-2, 7-5 winner over Anton Shepp at Singles No. 2. Miguel rose to 8-7 overall and 4-2 in dual match action with the win.

Miguel's success wasn't enough to spark a comeback as Nebraska closed out each of the remaining matches, including consecutive 7-6 set wins at No. 1 and a three-set battle at No. 3.

The Tulsa men will return to action with a home doubleheader on Sunday, Feb. 23, with dual matches against Baylor (12:00 p.m.) and Oral Roberts (5 p.m.). Tulsa's match with Baylor will stream on ESPN+.
