
Women's Golf In Second After Day One at Veritex Bank Collegiate

DALLAS, Texas –– The Tulsa Women's Golf program sits in second place after the first day of action at the Veritex Bank Collegiate. The Golden Hurricane shot runs of 298-287= 585 (+9) over the first 36 holes of the event.
TU sits in second place, five shots behind Texas Tech, who shot four-over par 580 (290-290) over the first 36 holes of the event. Over the first day of the event, Tulsa was the only school to record two eagles. Along with the two eagles, Tulsa fired 27 birdies, the fifth most on day one. The Golden Hurricane had the best scoring average on the par 4s during the first two rounds.
Junior Jenni Roller leads the Golden Hurricane and sits tied for second at the event. After shooting one-over-par 73, in the first round, Roller came back and shot a career-best four-under par 68 in the second round. She sits two strokes off the lead, which Louise DePadt of Tarleton State holds. Over the 36 holes of the event, Roller has the best scoring average on par 4s.
After shooting five-over par 77 in the event's first round, Romaine Masserey rebounded in the second round. In the second round, Masserey shot a career-best five-under par 67 to move up the leaderboard by 26 positions. She sits in eighth place at even par 144 (77-67).
Sydney Seigel led the Golden Hurricane during the first round, shooting even par 72 over the first 18 of the day. She was the only TU golfer to be at par or under during the first 18 holes. She shot four-over par 76 in the second round and is tied for 16th at four-over par 148 (72-76).
Sophomore Allyn Stephens had the fourth-best score for Tulsa on the day. She fired a round of four-over-par, 76, and five-over-par 77 on the day. She is nine-over-par 154 (76-77) for a tie for 42nd.
Lovisa Gunnar followed for TU. She improved seven spots on the leaderboard in round two after shooting a seven-over par 79 in the first round. She shot four-over par 76 in the second round. She sits tied for 47th at 11-over par 155 (79-76).
Hanna Robinett played an individual for TU. In the first round of the tournament, she fired a five-over-par 77. She followed with a round of nine-over-par 81. She sits tied for 60th with a score of 14-over-par 158 (77-81).
Tuesday's final round will start at 8:15 a.m. with a shotgun start. Roller will begin on hole one. Masserey will tee off from hole two. Seigel and Stephens will be off holes three and four, respectively. Gunnar will start from the fifth tee. Robinett, an individual, will start on hole 15.
