Golden Hurricane Volleyball Announces 2025 Schedule

TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa volleyball team, under third-year Head Coach Lauren Ramatowski, is excited to announce the official 28-match regular season slate for the 2025 season. The schedule includes 12 nonconference matches and 16 American Athletic Conference contests, with a total of 11 matches being played at home in the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
This year's iteration of the American Championship will be hosted by South Florida in the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Fla.
The 2025 schedule pits the Golden Hurricane against six postseason teams from last season, including NCAA Tournament participants Oklahoma, Cleveland State, Texas State and reigning American champion Wichita State, while National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC) squads on the docket from last season include Wyoming and East Carolina.

Nonconference Schedule
Tulsa opens the year at Rumble in the Rockies, a four-team tournament hosted by Wyoming, which advanced to the 2024 NIVC third round last year. TU will play its season-opener against the hosting Cowgirls on Friday, Aug. 29, and will follow with an afternoon tilt against Colorado on Saturday before wrapping up the weekend with an evening showdown against reigning Horizon League champion and NCAA first-rounder Cleveland State on Sunday, August 31.
A week later, the Golden Hurricane will drive east to Fayetteville, Ark., for the Wooo Pig Invitational, where they'll compete in three matches in three days starting with Cal Poly on Thursday, Sept. 4. On Friday, Tulsa will seek revenge against Oklahoma, who has escaped with 3-2 wins in each of the last four meetings with TU. Finally, Tulsa will take on the hosting Razorbacks on Saturday, Sept. 6. TU took down then-22nd-ranked Arkansas in five sets during its 2024 home opener last year for its second-ever victory over a nationally ranked opponent.
The third nonconference tournament of the season takes Tulsa to San Marcos, Texas, there the Golden Hurricane will be pitted against Texas State (Sept. 12) and Incarnate Word (Sept. 13) in the Texas State Tournament. Two days later, Tulsa will stay on the road to play Abilene Christian in Abilene, Texas.
For the Tulsa Volleyball Invitational, TU will welcome New Mexico State and cross-town foe Oral Roberts on Friday, Sept. 19, and Little Rock on Saturday, Sept. 20. It will be Tulsa's second all-time meeting with New Mexico State and fifth overall matchup with Little Rock, while the Golden Hurricane seeks their 17th consecutive win over Oral Roberts in what will be the 86th all-time match between the two programs.
The American Schedule
The 16-match American Athletic Conference schedule has Tulsa facing four opponents twice in a home-and-home series, including UTSA, Wichita State, UAB and Memphis. The Golden Hurricane will take on remaining league opponents in single matches, including home contests against North Texas, Charlotte, East Carolina and Tulane, and road tilts at Rice, South Florida, Florida Atlantic and Temple. All conference matchups will be held on Fridays and Sundays.
Tulsa begins The American schedule with a road trip to San Antonio, Texas, to take on the UTSA Roadrunners on Friday, Sept. 26, and will conclude opening weekend and the September slate on the 28th at Rice in Houston.
Nine matches headline the October schedule, which begins with the home-and-home series with Wichita State on the 3rd and 5th. The Shockers will host the first match on Friday and turn it over to Tulsa for a Sunday afternoon showdown at 11th and Harvard. The Golden Hurricane will remain at home to face UAB (Oct. 10) and Memphis (Oct. 12) before hitting the road for rematches against Memphis (Oct. 17) and UAB (Oct. 19) on the following weekend.
North Texas and UTSA will come to TU on Friday, Oct. 24 and Sunday, Oct. 26, respectively, before the Golden Hurricane spends Halloween night, a Friday, at South Florida.
Tulsa will stay in the Sunshine State to take on the Owls of Florida Atlantic on Sunday, Nov. 2, to open the final month of regular-season action. Then, TU will host a home series with Charlotte (Nov. 7) and East Carolina (Nov. 9). The final weekend of the regular season will take the Golden Hurricane to Philadelphia for an evening contest at Temple on Friday, Nov. 14, before coming home to host Tulane on Sunday the 16th for the regular-season finale.
Conference action will conclude with the 2025 American Athletic Conference Championship. The tournament, seeded by conference standings, will run from Nov. 21-23 in the Yuengling Center at South Florida. The tournament winner will receive the automatic bid for the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
