Allyn Stephens Prepares for Her First LPGA Event

MIDLAND, Mich. –– Allyn Stephens, a standout member of the University of Tulsa women's golf team, is poised to make her debut on the LPGA Tour this week. The talented amateur will showcase her skills at the Dow Championship, held at the prestigious Midland Country Club in Midland, Michigan.
This week's LPGA Tournament is different from most, as it features a team format. There are 72 two-player teams competing in the event. The stroke-play tournament will include foursomes (alternate shot) in Rounds 1 and 3, and fourballs (better ball) in Rounds 2 and 4. Stephens will be teaming up with Bailey Davis from Tennessee.

There is a cut after 36 holes to the lowest 33 teams and ties. The team with the lowest score at the end of the four days will be declared the winner of the Dow Championship.
The event will take place at Midland Country Club, which was designed by Gilbert A. Currie and opened its doors in 1928. Over the years, the course has seen several renovations, with the most recent update completed by George Dillon in 2021. For the Dow Championship, the course will have a par of 70 and is the second-shortest venue that the athletes have played this season, measuring 6,277 yards. Additionally, it features the third smallest greens on the Tour so far this season and has the fewest bunkers. Midland Country Club has hosted the team event since it began in 2019.
The first and second rounds of the Dow Championship will be broadcast live on Golf Channel on Thursday, June 26, and Friday, June 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET. The third and final round will air on Golf Channel from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. ET.
