
Tulsa Leads After Day One of Florida State Match Up

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Tulsa women's golf team leads after the first round of the Florida State Matchup. Tulsa shot three-under par 285, the only team under par in the first round.
Tulsa leads host No. 18 Florida State by three shots after the first round. Florida State is the defending champion of this event. Tulsa has two golfers in the top five and one just sitting outside the top ten. To view the complete leaderboard, click here.
Leading the Golden Hurricane were Jenni Roller and Romaine Masserey in round one, as the TU duo finds themselves tied at third at two-under par. Starting on the back nine, Roller birdied three of the nine holes heading to her final nine of the day, three-under. She parred the first six holes before suffering a bogey. She parred her final two holes and finished the day two-under.
Masserey started strong, birdieing two of her first five holes before bogeying her ninth. After a second bogey, she recovered with three more birdies, had one additional bogey, and finished at two under par.
Finding herself just outside the top ten is Allyn Stephens, who is tied at 11th. After shooting three-over par on her first nine, Stephens bounced back on her final nine holes of the day. She had a stretch of three straight birdies to get back to even par. She finished the day at even par 72.
Samantha Olson and Zoe Shamy rounded out the Golden Hurricane, each tying for 15th after shooting one-over par 73s. Shamy shot one over on her first nine holes and even par on her last nine. Olson played the first nine at even par, was one under through most of the second nine, but ultimately finished at one-over par 73.
Playing as an individual, Jeanne Pagnier came in tied for 55th after shooting an eight-over par 80. She was four over par on the front and four over par on her back nine.
Tulsa returns to action on Saturday for the second round of the Florida State Match Up. Tulsa will play with No. 18 Florida State and Eastern Michigan. Tee-times for this group will start at 7:45 a.m. CT, with every ten minutes off hole one.
