Women’s Golf Earns Fifth Top Three Finish of the Season

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Tulsa women's golf team earned its fifth top-three finish of the season at the Florida State Match Up. The Golden Hurricane finished with a score of 12-over par 876 at the tournament.
 
No. 18 Florida State won the event, as they finished four-under par 860 for the tournament. Tulsa finished ahead of Illinois, Virgina, and Alabama. To view the complete leaderboard, click here.
 
Leading the Golden Hurricane at the tournament was Allyn Stephens. She earned her second top ten finish of the year coming at the Florida State Match Up tied for sixth. She saved her best round for the final round and moved up seven spots on the leaderboard, as she shot three-under par 69 on the final day. She After shooting even par on the front nine, she birdied ten and eagled 11 to move to three under. She finished the tournament, one-under par 215.
 
Samantha Olson finished in 11th at the event. In the final round, Olson found herself five over par going into hole nine. She birdied nine and carded three more bridies on the back nine. She finished the day, two-over par 74. For the event she was one-over par 217.
 
Coming in third for the Golden Hurricane was Jenni Roller. She finished tied 22nd eight-over 224. In the third round, Roller shot nine-over par 81.
 
Romaine Masserey finished tied for 27th after 10-over par 226 for the Florida State Match Up. She shot six-over par 78 in the final round. Zoe Shamy rounded out the Golden Hurricane as she finished tied for 44th after shooting 14-over par 230. She moved up three spots on the leaderboard, as she shot three-over par 75 in the final round.
 
Playing as an individual, Jeanne Pagnier held steady on the leaderboard and finished tied for 35th. After going four over on the front nine, she went one-under 35 on the back nine. She finished the round, three-over par 75 in the final round.  
 
Tulsa returns to action on Monday, April 6 when they head to Bryan, Texas to participate in the "Mo" Morial Invitational. The event will be played at the Traditions Golf Club.
